When paying for a professional service to complete a job, you’re going to want it done right. One way to ensure you’re happy with the end result is to ask important questions up front, especially of a Power Washing Company. Power Washing is often more complicated than it seems, and if done incorrectly, it can result in property damage and added expenses.

Here are five important questions to ask a service before hiring them to complete your job.

1. Are you insured?

Any time a service provider is on your property, make sure they have insurance – both liability and workman’s compensation. While rare, accidents happen, and some can be more serious than others. In the unlikely event that something does go wrong on your property or with the people working on your property, make sure the company is equipped to handle the financial implications. Here at Double A, we carry both insurances.

2. How are the employees of your company certified?

Just like having the proper types of insurance in place, in order to provide the best and safest possible service, you’ll want to make sure the technicians at they company you hire are certified. Power washers are powerful pieces of equipment, and it’s important that whoever is using them knows how to operate them properly. At Double A, our technicians are OSHA, PWNA (Power Washers of North America), and BBB certified.

3. What is your cleaning process?

After making sure the company you hire is properly insured and certified, the next question you’ll want to ask is what cleaning process the company uses. Different surfaces require different cleaning processes – concrete cleaning will be much different than cleaning siding, for instance. Ask what kinds of solutions or cleaners will be used for each surface and what type of water pressure will be used on the projects. A reputable company will be able to answer these questions and should use a variety of pressures and solutions.

4. Do you have examples of your work to share?

A reputable company is going to have samples of before and after photos to share with you. If the company is unwilling to share photos of work they’ve completed, there might be a reason. A company who is proud of its work will have examples to share with you. You can find examples of our work here.

5. Do you have reviews from previous customers to share?

Visual examples are always welcome, but it’s also helpful to see reviews from former customers who have used the service. Like photos, reputable services should be more than willing to share reviews. But, do your due diligence, and make sure to check multiple streams for reviews. A company’s website, Facebook page, and a simple Google search can give you balanced feedback.
